good tough case
User: Eric Troutman, Nov 9, 2006
Pros: fits very well; seems sturdy; protected screen faces out
Cons: a little bulky
This case seems thick and tough, though this adds some bulk. The holster is convenient to use, and may or may NOT be as tough as the case, as it is very light.

The screen is protected by a clear plastic window which flips up. Some users may not care for this feature (especially after the plastic gets scratched up), but it is removable. The screen faces out in the holster, allowing "caller ID" in telephone use.

The SD card cannot be changed without taking the Treo completely out of the case. This is a disadvantage, but the skins WITH cutouts for the card are quite compromised in terms of fit. And at least the card is protected!

The skin fits quite snugly and is very secure while allowing access to nearly every feature of the Treo. (The keyboard is not protected but is very accessible.) The fit is MUCH better than the "thin" skin elsewhere in the Treonaut store.
Quite Whining

The Case is Great, for the price buy new case every year.
for that fact that the ir and sd card is covered, take
a holepunch or jackknife and cut a little hole.
I used a hole punch to cut 2 circles side by side.
my ir port workds great for 30 seconds of work.
AS the sd card goes i did not cut out for safety because
i do not change it often, but if i did, i would cut out a 3
sided box, to make a flap. so both the sd card could come out
and the card would be somewaht protected.
I just wish they had as durable case for treo as they do for the
blackberry 7520. I refer to the holster one that police use with 4 snaps. I love the rubber glove idea. but i still need a durable hostler for when i am on a ladder or under a desk. I use my blackberry hoslter case (modified) with the speck rubber case.
what good is a great rubber phone protector if you lose phone
when you bump the hostler in a ceiling running cat 5 cable.
Love the Speck ToughSkin
User: Roberta Castillo, May 10, 2007
Pros: Very "drop" protective
Cons: Lousy clip on the holster
I love the Speck ToughSkin for my Treo 700p. I am really hard on my things and my Treo has been dropped many times. The ToughSkin is the most protective cover while still allowing the most accessability. While it does increase the overall size of the Treo and make it look quite "military", it is worth it. The rubber skin give good feel and grip. The keyboard is completely accessible. The plastic flipcover fully protects the screen. I had a habit of accidentally touching the screen and answering or hanging up the call before I had it out and ready to use. The plastic screen cover solves that problem. The thin lower edge of the catch to hold the screen protector closed is delicate and has a tendency to crack. Regardless, it's a small price to pay. Some reviews complain about the card slot being covered. I don't find it necessary to remove my card often so that is not an issue. It is easy to remove the skin to get to it. Besides, on dropping, the card would frequently fly out and skitter across the floor before I had the ToughSkin. Now, problem solved! The holster is another issue. The clip doesn't hold to much of anything. I have dropped it a number of times because the clip didn't hold. I rarely clip it now to avoid this. If you're listening, Speck, fix the clip! I'd buy another just for that.
Great case at a Great Value
User: David Zapata, Feb 28, 2007
Pros: Provides alot of protection while allowing easy access to phone function
Cons: Window for screen protection could be secured a lil better
I've had this case for almost 3 weeks now and I love it. It works well for protection if you drop the Treo or it gets away from you. It also makes the Treo alot more comfortable in your hand when working with it. The fact that the SD card slot is covered is a good thing- mine pops out alot without the case from being pushed in and if I lose a 4GB card that wouldnt be a good thing. I wish the IR port wasn't covered, but you can't have "everything" LOL My advice is to get a big enough SD card so you won't have to worry about changing them and to use the Hot-sync cable vs. a card reader for putting stuff on your card- problem solved. My only gripe, really, is that the window provided for screen protection isn't secured as well as it could be and pops open from time to time and I've lost it a couple times so far...and the last thing I have to say is that the case and the holster still fit and work together after adding the 3200 extended battery that sticks out an addittional 3mm with the new cover it comes with.
so-so
User: d o, Sep 26, 2007
Pros: good drop protection
Cons: screen cover poor design, rubber stretched and does not fit correctly after a few months use, case makes it difficult to place into and remove from pockets
this case started off working well once the plastic cover was removed but soon the neo-p became loose making it fit poorly. the holster system is very dubious... the phone easily fall out of plastic holster system. rubber tears esily around cut outs.
Sturdy
User: Bobby Whitmore, Nov 30, 2006
Pros: Thick rubberized cover, plastic lens cover protects the screen, exact fit
Cons: SD card is covered, IR port covered
I've had this case for two weeks now, and I love it. In my line of work treos don't last long in my work enviroment. I think I have got to be the roughest individual on this type of equipment, and this Speck works absolutely wonderful. If your constantly changing SD cards, or in need of the IR port, this may not be a good choice for you. But, from a rugged stand point? this case is the bomb...
Bad over time
User: joe Smith, Jan 20, 2007
This started out as the perfect case. All of Speck's material are the same even if the outside looks different from model to model.

I'll start off with the pros. It's light, thin, and has a good grip. The screen protection is perfect, allowing you to use the touch screen and close it to protect it. Makes you look like Captain Kirk when you're using it flipped out. ;)

What was disturbing over time was the fit of the case. Either moisture from my hands and pockets are getting into the tiny pockets in the material or my treo has shrunk! I think the rubber gave out its' form over time. I bought my brother one and his is having the same problem.

What I'm left with now after 6 months of use is a case that is 3/4 a centimeter loose on all sides. Leaving the cutout not fitting and the plastic screen riding up to scrap the chrome surface of the phone.
True...it's bad over time... :-(
User: Oliver Almare, Mar 28, 2007
Pros: Sturdy...very sturdy! Plus the screen protector really does its job well!
Cons: Loses its shape in time, and the screen protector's locking notch breaks easily. Also, blocks the IR Port and the SD Card.
My opinion's mostly the same as the other user who found the same problems with this case. The wheel-look that it gives actually makes it a lot easier for me to handle the phone in one hand, grip it, and be able to do tons of things without worrying about slippage. Also, it protects the phone real well against falls and scratches. The screen protector does make it feel high-techy, and does protect the screen well.

Cons? Quite a few, actually. The case, being sturdy and all, does its job too well that it's hard to take out the SD Card if you need to, not to mention nullifying the phone's ability to use the IR Port. The screen protector's little notch to latch on the rubber lock and hold it in place does tend to break easily. Lastly, and the biggest disappointment in this skin is that it loses its shape in time. Now I have slack on the bottom of the phone which makes it look "cheap" and ugly.

If not for that big fault, I would have actually given this case 4 stars!
