| Like I said above, everything is right about these styli. Nice solid metal, textured feel, solid with a little extra weight, and decent colors (except maybe the pink). But....I found out that they reduce your cell signal. There is no mistaking it. When you put this solid metal stylus in your phone, you can expect your signal strength to go from 5 bars to 3. I am using a gsm treo 680 and I always have 5 bars, so I noticed it immediately when I started using this stylus. When you think about it, it makes sense. The internal antenna is close to where the stylus is in the phone and the original stylus has a section of plastic. Apparently, not to save money, but to avoid interference. Im also embarrased to say that I read my little manual that I bought from Palm: Now You Know - Treo 680 Smartphone. If you go to p. 135, they warn against 3rd party solid metal styli because "The factory authorized stylus is plastic on top to avoid interfering with the antenna mechansim inside the smartphone housing." This is an accurate warning. I did hold on to mine as spares. Its just not worth any more time to try and return. I keep them on my desk to use with the phone for convenience to avoid pulling the original out of the phone. My son also likes them as mini drum sticks. | |||||
