I have owned my Clearcase for over 6 months now and I am very pleased with its functionality, looks, and protectiveness. In fact I liked it so much, when I bought my wife a Treo 650 I included a Clearcase and a Speck Products Skin Tight Holster (colorless & transluscent). You may be thinking interesting combination, but the holster works great with the Clear case.
Before Clearcase was available, I bought a Speck Product Skintight case with Holster at the Palm store in Liberty Airport NJ. I found that replacing the 650 battery to be painful when using the Skintight case. The search was on and I found the Clearcase review on this website and decided to give it a try. I love the case, however the belt clip it came with was not to my expectations.
I tried the Skintight Holster with the Clearcase. Wow! What a good fit. If you clip the phone to your belt vertically it is held very secure and would have to be knocked very hard to remove it from the case. The same goes in the horizontal carry where the antenna is used to keep the phone against the upper clip of the holster (if you carry it on your right, the bottom end of the phone is postioned pointing forward).
My only gripe about the Clearcase is the screen cover. It can be easily scratched. Perhaps a better design would be to make the screen cover from a polycarbonate rather than acrylic.
In conclusion, the pairing of these to great products makes for a great functional combination. The combination is protective and functional. It is difficult to find the Speck Products Skintight Holster so I have included the link to the product here. http://www.speckproducts.com/parts.html |
