Battery does not hold charge
User: Alex Holden, Oct 29, 2008
Received the battery for my 800w Treo 2 days ago. The battery simply does not hold charge. Tried charging it several times via a wall charger as well as USB. The charging red led light does not come on at all. At some point the battery meter on the screen showed 25 charge. I disconnected the charger at that point and left my office for lunch. 15 minutes later the battery discharged completely and I was not able to turn on the phone. Subsequent charging attempts did produce any positive results whatsoever. Im hoping that I got a defective battery and will try to get another one to give it another shot.
Not ready for market
User: Alex Holden, Nov 7, 2008
So I got a replacement battery after the first one was not holding charge. The second one did hold charge, but there were still several issues that prompted me at the end of the day to return it for a full refund:

1. I expected that the battery would provide me with double the amount of charge than the original one. After using it for two full days I experienced at most 15 - 20 improvement under the same usage conditions. The battery DID NOT last me even a whole day!
2. 1 out of 3 times, when battery is inserted into the phone the phone freezes during boot up sequence and shows a black screen. At this point the battery needed to be re-inserted.
3. Device would randomly dim the screen during usage. The screen would dim for about 15 to 30 seconds for no particular reason (the battery was charged).
4. On several occasions, the device would not turn on after been in sleep (not used for an hour or so) mode. It would not react to any button presses. The battery needed to be re-inserted.
5. When charge level would fall below 20, the devices would begin showing notifications that the battery is at 1 charge and device would be shut off in 30 seconds. However, typically in this situation the device starts count down and does shut off in 30 seconds. In this case the count down was not started. After dismissing the notification on the screen and then tapping battery level indicator the new notification popup correctly displayed battery charge level at 17. Several minutes later the whole thing repeats again.

I returned this battery, I think it is not ready for a mass market. I doubt that there is a problem with my phone, it is brand new and works perfectly well with original battery.
2600 Extended for Treo 800w would not charge
User: Karl Kincheon, Nov 12, 2008
I returned the first battery after it would not charge. The first one caused my Treo to go dim and then just power down. The 2nd one would at least keep the phone on but it never charged. I even purchased the high-capacity charger thinking that was the issue. I returned my phone to its original factory settings and tried to charge but it still didnt hold one. I am returning it as I type this information.
Returning Seidio batteries
User: Treo 800W User, Nov 21, 2008
I experienced the exact same thing that Alex did in his 11/7 commentary. I even tried the 1350mAh battery and the same symptoms occured (Im in the process of returning both). The battery that came with my Treo works fine...just doesnt get me through the day so Im in the process of ordering another Palm battery. Ill have to switch out through the course of the day but hopefully that will be the only inconvenience. The Seidio symptoms were just too much to overcome.
