The new Plantronics Voyager 855 headset offers a convertible design and immersive sound experience for calls as well as listening to music on Bluetooth enabled mobile phones with stereo A2DP. The lightest stereo headset available to date, the new Voyager 855 includes intelligent features that offer unparalleled audio clarity.

Tailored Wear for Mono or Stereo Sound

Customizable for either mono or stereo use, the Plantronics Voyager 855 features a detachable stereo cable so consumers can tailor the wearing style to their communication and entertainment preferences. With specially designed, form-fitting earbuds, the Voyager 855 fits snugly and securely to seal out unwanted background distractions.

The Voyager 855's sound-isolating earbuds and convertible cable offer crystal clear wireless stereo sound when listening to digital music, as well as complete binaural immersion in conversations. When attached, the stereo cable also enables wireless AVRCP remote control capabilities. Plantronics' stereo multipoint technology alerts users to incoming calls and allows easy switching between conversations and music.

Drop the second earbud or detach the cable and the headset serves as a high-quality mono Bluetooth device.

Slide-to-Talk, Boom-Extended Microphone

The Plantronics Voyager 855 Bluetooth headset features a sleek slide-to-talk boom to provide convenient call control and improved audio performance. Sliding the boom open instantly connects the caller. The extending boom also houses a voice tube to position the microphone closer to the mouth for directional voice reception, ensuring maximum voice clarity and intelligibility. When the boom slides back, the call ends and/or the user's music selection conveniently resumes play.

Plantronics AudioIQ® - Noise Reduction and Two-Way Call Clarity

The Voyager 855 features Plantronics' award-winning AudioIQ technology - an exclusive, adaptive digital signal processing (DSP) technology that automatically reduces background noise and intelligently adjusts audio levels to increase clarity on both ends of a conversation.

Plantronics' new Voyager 855 offers approximately seven hours talk time, six hours listening time and 160 hours stand-by time from a single battery charge. And at only 15 grams - the Voyager 855 is the lightest stereo Bluetooth headset available.

Note: Stereo Bluetooth capability only works with phones that support Bluetooth A2DP.

Pros: stereo sound, portability, good battery life
Cons: None
I love my Plantronics Voyager 855. I use it with my Treo 700p to take phone calls, listen to music and audio books on the go. It has great battery life and pairs easily with my phone. I love it and think it was worth every penny.

StarStarStarStarStar Poor sound
User: Joel McGregor, Sep 20, 2008
Pros: Mute stops Windows Media Player on WM6.1 (Tilt) Phone works in both earpieces, Can use one side only
Cons: Low volume, poor sound
On my HTC Kaiser (Tilt) - Phone sound quality is poor and volume is poor. The poor volume is not the phones fault as my Voyager 510 has great volume with this phone and much clearer sound. Plantronics claims the 855 is compatible with my phone and the 510 is not. Strange.
Music quality is marginal at best.
Almost completely blocks outside sound. You could see this as a pro or con. It was a big negative for me. Having one ear plugged removes direction from sound. With both ears plugged it is impossible to talk to anyone (thats not on the phone). I have used quite a few cheapo earbuds with media players and such and all sounded better than this.
In my experience most bluetooth headsets are unusable. This one isnt but its close. I went through about a dozen before I settled for my 510. Neither one allows for call waiting either.
