i've never experienced the rub marks that Donald Albers has had. my case has saved my 650 from many accidental drops from waist-height. my treo would surely have suffered an early death had it not been for this jewel.

While I love the overall quality, fit, and function of this case, I am starting to become concerned about the belt clip. The clip has become looser over time. I had to remove the clip from the case to re-bend it back into shape a couple times, and with each removal/re-bending, it seems to become less and less able to function properly. It is only a matter of time before I am forced to replace the case. I doubt I could just find the clip. As to the case itself, I have experienced the rub spots and assume it will rub through eventually, however, I see that as normal wear and tear. I have bumped into a number of things over the past 6 months, and this hard case has been a trooper.

I like this case, but it needs more padding inside...

I really like this case. It looks very proffessional & protects my phone very well. I can put my phone down & not really worry about damage. I love the fact that I can open the case & view who is calling me or get information just by opening the case & looking at the phone even while it is on my hip & if the case accidentally opens, it opens in a way that cradels the phone. Its not fallen out yet at all.

My major problem is that the "protective" lining inside the phone wears out very fast. I have had it for about 5 months & I have noticed some "rubbing" where the hinges meet on the inside & the plastic arms that hold the phone in place. I have taken some velour padding & started to make my own padding because I do not really care to see rub marks on my phone.

All in all, this is a great case, but If I cannot get the rubbing to stop, I will probably find a new case.

Great case, latch closure needs re-design

I have purchased two of these cases for my Treo 750. I wanted enclosed and solid protection for the phone. The first case (had the antenna opening for other Treos) had two design flaws. The belt clip became too lose to remain secure on my belt and case would easily came off when I removed my jacket. Second problem was the latch mechanism for keeping the case shut. It was very easy to open and would tend to open accidently and the phone could drop out of the case.

I took the first case back to a Palm dealer and complained. He replaced it with a case specifically designed for the Treo 750 and had a belt clip that had a black plastic adpater attached, which was designed to lock under a belt and hold the case securely on the belt. A very good design change that resolved the problem of the case detaching from my belt.

However, the poorly designed latch mechanism that should keep the case securely shut is still part of the case assembly. The case can still easily open and the phone can pop out of the case accidently and may land on a hard floor surface, thus ruining the phone. Now I must place a wide rubber band around the case to ensure that the phone case will not inadvertently open.

So come on Palm! Let's get back to the drawing board. If you would like, I am willing to design mechanism that will ensure the case remains closed until the phone is needed. Great phone and still needs a great case.

Just my humble opinion.
