Really good - but Bluetooth & program just as important!
User: Jeff Craig, Sep 21, 2007
Pros: Finds the birds fast outside
Cons: Not so great indoors & depends on data connection
I bought this just before a trip from Seattle to St. Louis, Chicago & Tulsa. Since I would be driving around all three cities (family related trip) and only knew Tulsa, I thought this would be very handy in a rental car.

I tested it out around Seattle with the Yahoo !Go 2.0 Beta software and I really liked the zoom options (street level to region) but the map downloads didn't always keep up with the trip at street level. The other isue I had was the screen going dark, so I had to change the backlicght settings, keep my Treo plugged in and change the zoom level so the screen would stay lit (especially around the main highway interchanges in downtown).

After a few more headaches with Yahoo, (not being able to find Ted drewes Frozen Custard using OneSearch when it is 3 miles away), almost missing several turns due to not enough advanced notice for turns and the loss of signal being around all the big buildings in downtown Chicago (showed me in the middle of the Sears Tower with only 2 birds registering) I d/l'ed Google Mobile Maps.

Google seems more intuitive, and despite the single viewing scale, it is easier to use. Also, the 'Find Nearby Business' is very accurate and connects very fast to this GPS unit.

So, if you just need an assistant Naviguesser, this unit is great so long as you have an unlimited data plan. If you have no sense of direction or use a 'buy the kilobyte' data plan, you probably will want to spring for a Garmin with voice command and preloaded maps.
Junk, no technical or customer support

Pros: size
Cons: Bluetooth linking difficult or impossible, no customer support
I bought this receiver and liked it very much for a short time while it worked. It came with no instructions relative to the Treo 650 I linked it with, but with a little trial and error I eventually got it to synch. The problem came shortly thereafter when it suddenly stopped linking via bluetooth (which is the only waay this particular unit is used) so it became immediately useless. Countless calls and emails to both distributors and the manufacturer resulted in notifying me that it weas out of warranty (distributor) and therefore would have to be replaced by the manufacturer (2 year warranty). Great I thought. Not so fat....the manufacturer is impossible to contact, will not answer emails or telephone calls and is basically useless. So, my fair warning, dont waste your time or money with Navibe products. When the crap out (and they will) they instantly become disposable.
