EDITOR'S CHOICE: BEST VALUE NOISE CANCELLATION HEADSET

Overall I have to admit that the new Jabra BT530 has been a complete surprise. I was not at all expecting to find at Bluetooth headset at this price range delivering such superior call quality and excellent noise cancellation nor to find it in such a small body with the added convenience of a On/Off Power slider, micro USB connector and terrific accessory kit. In fact, the Jabra BT530 has so impressed me that I’m having a hard time deciding if I’ll keep using my New Jawbone…

Pros: Superb Sound, excellent ergonomics, fun to use.
Cons: Trying to get used to the new style ear gels.
I have been in the electronics integration business for years. I am as is my daughter and wife, from a family of techno geeks. I purchased a BT530 a week ago after researching many new bluetooth devices. Great reviews led me to the BT530. I was concerned because my only experience with Jabra was an ancient BT350 which was a good performing but inexpensive and Butt ugly unit from around 5 years ago.

This BT350 unit replaced a Moto H715 that replaced a H700. I liked the H715 because of its flip mic that turned the unit on and off. I also felt that the sound quality was improved over the H700. However, the performance in moderatly noisey enviroments was aweful. Eventually the unit failed and I had to get a replacement. I tried my wifes Jawbone II, however I felt it had above average technology but its fit was god aweful and I did not like the way its controls worked.

Then a week ago I got my little BT530. WOW! A great sliding power switch, super controls for volume etc. The unit was designed just like I would if I had a clean slate of paper. The performance is top notch. Excellent volume with good comprehension of incoming and outgoing speach. Plus the noise reduction is superb. No Jawbone cheak contact problems here! Unfortunatly I was mowing the grass today, it fell off my ear and went through the mower! So now I will buy another and not look back! Dont get caught up in the hype of other products in the $100 + market segment. Jabra has a real fine product here in the BT350.

Now if they can just get the eargel thing worked out. I was using a old style right/medium gel. The style that looks like a hearing aid mold from the 50s. It worked O-K with the ear loop. But as I said, mine fell off today and went through the mower.
