The Sena MagnetFlipper Case for Treo 650 is a slim flip-lid case that looks great and offers solid protection.

This flip case, unlike most other flip cases, has the hinge for the flip cover at the bottom of the case. The Treo slides into the top of the case and a small flap of leather clips over the top to a snap in the back to hold the Treo snuggly in the case. The flip lid itself closes by using two magnets on the top of the case. The lid flips shut and magnetically 'snaps' shut.

There are cutouts for everything. Side rocker switch, speaker, microphone, even the little LED status indicator at the top of the phone. When the case is closed, you lose access to the HotSync port, speaker, and microphone, though the headset jack is still available. Everything is exposed that should be: screen, navigation buttons, speaker. There is a cross bar of leather between screen and buttons, which adds a bit more protection and stability to the case.

There are two slots for extra SD cards and a slot for a few business cards, all on the inside cover.

The Clip version of the case uses Sena’s swivel beltclip design. The case is able to to swivel, allowing for full 360 degree rotation. Like most belt clips, the Treo is released from the clip with a simple push on the top of the clip. The clip itself fits belts up to 1.5” wide.

Still Good Even After Two Years
User: Samir Darji, Dec 27, 2007
Pros: Quality Construction
Cons: None for me!
Ive had this case for over two years now. I liked the "flipper" towards the bottom that allows the Treo to function like a flip-phone.

Ive dropped the phone several times, many times on concrete, with the only damage being dents in the plastic on any of the uncovered areas. Ive never had to have my Treo repaired.

The leather has aged quite well considering I havent used any protectants or cleaners on it for years now. The sides have lost some of their luster and the hinge section is showing some signs of wear, but you wouldnt think this case is two years old by the sight of it. The case (and Treo) spend most of the time in my pocket, sometimes sharing the space with keys or loose change.

Recently, I travelled internationally. And Sena even thought to keep accesss to the SIM card easy. Kudos. Changing SIMS or SD Cards is a snap, literally. In fact, the only time I take the Treo out of the case is to access the battery.

I dont have the belt clip so I cant comment on that.

Very happy with the case. Ill buy a second one when (or if) this one wears out.
Beautiful case
User: Kevin McCormick, Nov 10, 2006
Pros: Wonderful, elegant leather
Cons: makes the Treo even bulkier
This case is well designed with quality stitching and beautiful leather (I got the tan model). The magnetic latch holds the flap in place and the flap easily drops out of the way to make a call or use the screen. My only problem is that I believe the Treos are too bulky to begin with. I lust after one of those sexy thin razor type phones with Treo capabilities (Maybe Apple?). This case makes a bulky Treo even bulkier.
Great at first case but broke it twice in one year
User: Kent Grelling, Feb 5, 2007
Pros: Nice look, easy to access
Cons: Belt clip knob breaks easily
Loved this case for many reasons. The leather is top quality, it looks great. Access to the phone is quick and easy from my belt.

However the problem I have had is significant. I just broke the second of these cases when the knob for the belt clip pulled out of the leather case. No way to get it back in. I should note that I often leave the case on my belt in the car and I think it is the pressure from the seat belt that gradually pulls the knob loose. Nonetheless I am looking for another case now to see if I can find something that will stand up over time.

FYI, Sena will not replace the case for this kind of damage or even give you a reduced price on another one.
Great case, terrible belt clip
User: Kent G, Apr 11, 2007
Pros: Looks, screen protection
Cons: Belt clip knob comes out.
As several others have noted in various posts on this site, the knob for the belt clip on this case pulls out and cannot be replaced. This requires replacement of the whole $40 case, not just the clip. I went through 2 in about 9 months and gave up. My wife however, who does not use the belt clip, loves hers and has had no problems.
Nice Case but not ready for Belt Attachment
User: Jon Adams, Mar 11, 2007
Pros: Great Looks and Leather
Cons: Rotates to freely when attached to belt
This is a beautiful case, but when used on the belt the flap is easy to fall open from normal walking or arm motion. More annoying is that this case, like my other Sena, seem to rotate around the belt attachment much too easily, causing my 650 to be upside down all of the time. I have to check constantly to keep from losing my stylus. I should have passed on this one.
